Vignettes of Autumn

i

wispy clouds move
like phantoms
glimpsed in the fog
staring blankly at the sun

   shadows slither
across the ground

the last exorcism of day
has begun

    red crow, red crow
harries the dying of the light

rainbows stranded
fading into a forgotten
pot of gold

    the storm falls
back into the sun

Goddess Morrigan
the seer bestows
her gifts to me

    raven, raven
oracle of the longest night

iii

the time of cleansing
has come at hand
the reaping  of year's end

  Maiden sown
by summer's hand

Autumn sees her wiser
as Mother bears her children
of the harvest

  Black bird, black bird
It's time to take flight
